TRANSILIENT LEADERSHIP™ · LEAD YOURSELF · COURSE TWO

You know the moment.

You just can't stop it.

The meeting turns. Something tightens. And before you've decided anything, you're already defending, already sharp, already gone quiet. Above & Below the Line is the eight-module course that teaches leaders to catch that moment — and choose differently.

Most leadership development stops at insight.

You've done the profile. You know your style, your strengths, your derailers. You can describe your own patterns fluently.

And then Thursday happens. A decision gets questioned in front of your team. A project slips and someone asks why. Someone you rely on goes quiet in a way you can't read.

In that moment, none of the insight is available to you. Your thinking brain has narrowed, the story writing itself in your head feels completely true, and you are already three sentences into a response you'll replay at 11pm.

The gap between knowing and doing is the whole problem. And it isn't closed by understanding yourself better. It's closed by having something to do in the sixty seconds when understanding has left the building.

One line. Two states. A practice you can actually run.

Ashley Chase has taught this model inside executive teams for years, because it is the fastest way she knows to give a leader back their choices.

Above the line — open, curious, committed to learning. Ownership, accountability, responsibility. You hold more than one perspective, and you bring your best thinking.

Below the line — closed, defensive, reactive. Blame, excuses, denial. Survival mode, running one of four shapes: fight, flight, freeze or fawn.

Neither is good or bad. Everyone goes below. The skill was never staying above the line — it's noticing faster, and knowing the way back.

Below the line is the wide, well-trodden path — easy to choose, hard to be on. Above the line is the narrow one — hard to choose, but easy and good once you're on it.

INTRODUCING…

ABOVE & BELOW THE LINE

EIGHT MODULES. ONE PRACTICE.

All day, we move above and below an invisible line. Above it we're open, curious and accountable; below it we're closed, defensive and reactive.

Neither is good or bad. Everyone goes below. The skill was never staying above the line — it's noticing faster, and knowing the way back.

Every module ends in something you can use on Monday: a map of your own signals, a coaching question, a reset you can run in ninety seconds.

The videos are deliberately short — five to twelve minutes each, nine lessons in all. The depth lives in the workbook, the worksheets and the week you spend practising between modules, because that is where behaviour actually changes.

MODULE 1

The model, in two short parts. See the line, recognise both states in yourself without judgment, and get a shared language you can bring to your team.

MODULE 2

What it looks like for you. The Four-Signal Map — thoughts, feelings, body, behaviour. Find your first signal and your default response.

MODULE 3

The four patterns in leadership — Victim, Aggressor, Avoider, Pleaser — the Drama Triangle, and the one question that restores agency.

MODULES 4 & 5

Why calm conversations tip, and the blind spot you can't see when you're triggered. The one feedback question that shrinks it fastest.

MODULES 6 & 7

The SELF Toolkit — Stop, Explore, Let Go, Forward — then the four small scaffolds that turn noticing into a habit instead of an event.

MODULE 8

The capstone. Regulate → Relate → Redirect → Hold, plus Model, Coach, Correct — for leading someone else who's below the line.

THIS COURSE IS THE FIRST STEP

Above & Below the Line is the first rung of a ladder. When you're ready to go further, we climb with you:

  • The course — learn the model and build the practice, self-paced. (You're here.)
  • The cohort — run the same material live with your intact team, facilitated by Ashley, with accountability between sessions.
  • Work with us — bring Transilience in to build this into how your leadership team actually operates.

Start self-paced. Climb when you're ready.

ASHLEY CHASE, ICF PCC

Ashley is an executive coach who has spent years in the rooms where this matters — leadership teams under real pressure, where the model either survives contact with Thursday afternoon or it doesn't.

Above & Below the Line is her foundational self-leadership framework, and the module she is most often asked to run again. It is deceptively simple, and it changes how people talk to each other.

[Bio to be finalised with Ashley — placeholder framing.]

"I use the strategies I learned in this course daily. They've helped me accelerate my teams adoption of AI and enabled us to rethink how we work"

SVP Marketing

"I love the practical exercises included in the course! Being able to put what I learned into practice right away, within each modulewas powerful."

IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?

It's for you if:

  • You sometimes react in ways that don't reflect the leader you actually are
  • You've had the same piece of feedback more than once and quietly dismissed it both times
  • Your team goes careful around you under pressure, and you can feel it
  • You want a shared language for accountability that doesn't sound like blame
  • You've completed EI Foundations and want the operating tool that goes with the map

Probably not for you if you're looking for a personality profile, a framework to file, or a course you can finish without looking at yourself honestly. This one asks for some discomfort. That discomfort is the signal it's working.

Already done EI Foundations? That course gave you the self-awareness map. This one gives you the moment-by-moment operating tool — and its Module 5 trigger work uses the same thoughts / feelings / body / behaviour structure, so you'll arrive with the vocabulary already in place. It also works entirely standalone. No prerequisite required.
